Mapping

For the first time, Pex Central will offer subscribers access to a new, fully integrated mapping facility, which seamlessly interfaces Pex Central data with Google Earth maps, giving users a ‘real world’ visual on where our petroleum action is taking place.

Via KML files – a format used to display geographic data in an Earth browser, such as Google Earth and Google Maps - Pex Central’s Well, Rig and Operator information can be quickly transferred to the Google Earth application. This generates an amazingly unique perspective from which to view the geographical locations of past and current Australian, New Zealand and PNG exploration activity.

From the Google Earth view, subscribers can click on a specific well name, which links back to the Pex Central data and displays this in a new window, allowing simultaneous viewing of both the technical well data, and its physical location.

The modules of Pex Central which contain the types of data that are readily transferable to Google Earth are Wells, Rigs, and Company operated wells. Pex Central Mapping is fully integrated into each, and is available at no extra cost to subscribers accessing these modules. All that is required for the user to be able to access this powerful feature is to download the Google Earth application, which is available free at http://earth.google.com/. Then your freedom to explore Australasian oil and gas activity utilising the potent combination of Google Earth and Pex Central is virtually limitless.
